Becoming aware of your internal dialogue and learning to change it, is important.
Especially when that dialogue is negative, with thoughts such as “It’s never going to work”, “I have no idea how to achieve this”, “I am an unlucky person”, “I’m not good enough”, “I can’t be bothered” or “What’s the point?”.
However, changing this dialogue we have with ourselves is not easy. It often has unconscious and subconscious roots in how we perceive life, as well as our self image, which we have created throughout our successes and our failures.
With awareness of this, Kundalini Yogis use their own bodies to achieve changes in their internal dialogue.
As their bodies and minds are intimately connected, any physical changes have an immediate effect on the mind. In changing the body’s chemistry, the brain’s chemistry is also altered.
That is why Kundalini Yogi’s always start their day by practising kriyas (series of exercises based on posture, sounds and breathing). Exercising the body daily to stimulate and strengthen its systems (particularly the nervous and glandular systems) helps to improve their mental state.
For the same reason they also sing mantras, which cut through thought like a ray of light.
In this way, they can elevate their energy immediately and start the day with a high level of vibration. And remember, that our level of energy and vibration can determine what we can achieve and our ability to take advantage of the opportunities life lays in front of us.
